Big Congratulations to Evelyn Telfer, PhD
Evelyn Telfer, PhD, professor and Personal Chair in Reproductive Biology at University of Edinburgh, a close research collaborator of David F. Albertini, PhD, CHR's Senior Visiting Scientist, was recently recognized as one of Porter's magazine's Incredible Women of 2018. The annual award celebrates women who inspire others through their actions. The work recognized by Porter's was Dr. Telfer’s research on in vitro maturing immature eggs retrieved from ovarian tissue into a mature stage where they can be fertilized, a project on which Dr. Albertini has been working closely with Dr. Telfer.
Dr. Telfer is scheduled to give two presentations at this year's FRM Conference. The first on Saturday, titled "A first step in growing human primordial follicles in vitro to maturity in a multi-step culture system," outlines this groundbreaking work recognized by Porter's. Her second lecture on Sunday relates to the possibility of oogonial stem cells.
