An alternative proposal to the destruction of abandoned human embryos.

Published in Nature Biotechnology.

In IVF, many patients end up with more embryos than they eventually use for pregnancy. While some patients actively donate their extra embryos for research of for other fertility patients' use, many other embryos are stored at IVF centers for years, sometimes decades, abandoned by the patients for whom they were created. This article explores what can be done with the abandoned embryos.
